Disney whilst pregnant?!
Hi, I've just found out I'm pregnant and we're booked to go to Florida in October with our 5 and 3 year olds. I'll only be around 17 weeks so not too far along and I'm wondering if I'll still be able to go and enjoy it? I know I can't go on any of the bigger rides but then my two are quite small still so they probably won't be going on anything like that anyway. On a plus note at least I'll be able to drive in the evening when we go out for dinner since there will be no vino for me...

Hi - i went to Florida this March when i was about 20 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and had a great time. You will be in the middle trimester so hopefully be passed all the yucky sickness and exhaustion stage and be feeling much better than first few months. October it won't be too humid or hot either just make sure you plan in lots off breaks during the day in the theme parks and some chill out days as well. Obviously no big roller coasters but there was still quite a lot off rides i could go on with the kids and ones i couldn't i chilled in the air con off the shops or happily sat in the sunshine. You will have an amazing time xx

Me and my wife first went in 2014 when she was about 3-4months pregnant and we both loved it. Like you said we couldnt go on any of the big rides but went on everything else. Saying that we have been twice since and still havent been able to go on the bigger rides as we went when our son was 18 months old and again when he was nearly 3 and with our 6 month old son...
There is always next year I guess haha |

Thanks guys that makes me feel a lot better. We were not planning another baby at the moment and I was worried that we'd have to cancel our holiday! I'm not a massive thrill seeker anyway so happy to potter around whilst the boys go on anything I can't go on. I have to say I'm surprised that the seven dwarf mine train isn't suitable during pregnancy I thought it looked quite tame? I suppose I'll have a better idea once we're there x

We went in 2010 when i was about 17 weeks pregnant with my youngest. As a big rollercoaster junkie i was most unhappy about watching my husband merrily ride The Hulk several times without me
before i went I checked with the midwife, "They only put those signs up to cover their butts right?" she was not impressed that i'd even asked and i was schooled on the effects of roller coasters and the forces that even small rides will put on your body and therefore the baby .. I'm not a medical professional, so no idea if her science was correct but I obviously didn't want to take any chances I also had my 2 year old daughter (too small for rides) to keep me company and we spent many lovely hours on the different play areas. You'll have a fantastic time ! Congrats on the Baby though unexpected surprises are the best ! |
