Mobile Wild florida - is it worth a day?

Day 27/28 tomorrow and we are knackered. We have wild florida planned with an airboat as part of it. It will mean a 730 start in the morning.

The kids are looking forward to seeing the gators. But they are just off the back of two days at universal so are very tired

Is it a decent day out?

I'd be interested to know this too.
We have free tickets but I don't know if I want to add it to our plans or not

We had a good half day out there last year, but booked an afternoon airboat ride so didn't have the early start. We did a 1 hour airboat and sloth encounter as well as having a look around the park, plus we had lunch included in our tickets too. It's only a small park, so if all you've got it a half hour airboat (which will be over really quickly), then I'm not sure I would bother as you won't spend more than maybe 1.5-2 hours there, depending on how long your children spend looking at the animals.

I'd drag them out of bed for it, with the promise of being home by lunchtime for a lazy day at the pool, or back to bed for an hour.

Maybe too late for Papasmurf now but I would go as nice chilled out half day. You can see lots of different animals close up and no pressure to pay to have photos taken with them. Rustic settings and in a way basic but great change from Disney

Just back.

I decided last night that I'd call them when they opened to see if they could push back the airboat. If they couldn't then we'd take the kids to gatorland.

Fortunately they could. Pushed it back to 1015. Got there in an hour and had a cracking time. Airboat was a little over an hour. Really good fun

The park it's self is great. More than enough to take a couple of hours.

I'd recommend anyone to go. The park is free entry and the airboat seems to come with loads of Disney/universal ticket purchase with various retailers.

Sounds like you'd a good day, bet the kids would have enjoyed Gatorland too.

Yeah it was. We did gatorland a few years ago. Thought this was a better day out.

We did WE last year and we're considering Gatorland in a few weeks for a change. It's a lot shorter time need for Gatorland, do you think?

Sound great! We're doing WF for the first time this trip, so thanks for that feedback. Really looking forward to it now
