Naples, where to eat and boat trip
Hi, can anyone recommend somewhere to eat in Naples please?
Also a dolphin watching trip. Finally, been considering kayaking through the Mangroves, can anyone recommend please? Thanks in advance. |

When we're in Naples we always go to Tin City and after having a wander round the shops we eat at the Riverside Restaurant, get there reasonably early and grab a table overlooking the water (not open air but no windows). Food is good and the place is popular with the locals. Also Pinchers Crabshack there as well if you like your seafood. 5th Ave South is worth a wander down with shops and restaurants. Go to the end and you're on the beach. Tin City has dolphin tours (Pure Naples) but Naples Water Tours (10th Ave South) has good reviews. Also across from Riverside Restaurant (other side of the bridge) there are large boats taking people out for a couple of hours. We did a lunch buffett cruise and really enjoyed it. Finally we did a trolley tour (from near Tin City) which was a pleasant way to spend an hour or so although Naples doesn't have the 'big attractions' that Central Florida has. If you 'google' these places you'll have plenty of info to digest.
ps we rented a boat one year and cruised up the inland waterway, be sure to take hats, suncream and drinks. We had dolphins alongside the boat at times, fantastic! Edited at 04:47 PM. |

I've read very good reviews about Pure Florida so think that's who we'll go with if we do a boat trip, so will be following your post for other suggestions

We did a 3 hour kayak through the mangroves off Rookery Bay with Naples Kayak Company 2 years ago. We used tandem kayaks with 1 adult and one child in each. I'm not particularly fit but we managed it well. Beautiful scenery and birdlife. Restaurants, try the Village Pub on Venetian Bay for a good view but reasonable price or it's sister restaurant Olde Naples Pub near the pier. Another vote too for Pinchers at Tin City. We go soon too!

Bistro 821 on Fifth Avenue is fabulous for a meal, also Brooks brothers just off Fifth is one of the top burger places in Naples. There's a Cheesecake Factory in the Coastland Mall! Tommy Bahama on Third is great for Happy Hour, food is really good but it's always rammed. We rented a boat from Naples Bay Hotel for the day, think it was about $380 ish, we had an amazing day, it's in my trippie Villa Owners trippie. We go to Naples every year so feel free to ask me anything.

We are hiring a boat, for 8 of us I think it almost works out cheaper than some of the organised trips.
I can't wait to see the Dolphins |

I can highly recommend The Boathouse in Naples, if you want to eat good food, reasonably priced and where the locals eat this is the place!
