If you like baseball history, it really is worth the $$. If we hadn't been so limited by our schedule, I would have called and asked which tour tends to be the quietest...though part of my troubles are down to spending so much of my misspent youth in nightclubs - my hearing is not what it should be...
I couldn't see the chip either, and I am too tech-stupid to put in a circle (around it) where Poot pointed it out! |

Loving the trip report, we just got back from Boston yesterday and all the pics are bringing back the memories.
We also had the same tour guide at Fenway. Looking forward to reading the rest...

Why, thank you.
If you had that guide you'd remember him!...I know he wasn't from Boston, but I can't think where he said he grew up... My last two ballpark tours have been led by chaps who weren't lifelong fans of the respective clubs - I do prefer a tour led by a "proper fan". Boston is such a great town - glad to hear you enjoyed your trip, too. |

Enjoying your reports very much
I knew you'd be a Lindsey Davis fan when you mentioned the Cloaca Maxima in a previous day ! Allez les Bleus ! Edited at 11:05 PM. |

Aimez-vous les bleus? Si vous aimez les bleus... I must confess your post has intrigued me - first the French and then sota! It can't be "sota" for L'etoile du Nord - or can it? Do tell! So pleased to hear you're enjoying the report - I ABSOLUTELY stole the daily descriptions of each of us from Lindsey Davis' Roman novels. When I first sat down to write the report I was thinking about how to "introduce" us - and it just seemed to fit so perfectly. Last year I really tried to immerse myself in all things Roman - I knew that I would be starting Poot with Latin in the Autumn...luckily he enjoys it - but I'm all caught up now with the "fun" Roman books. Tacitus just ain't the same... I see you're off to the Gulf Coast before too long - I'm very jealous! - hopefully I will get the Sanibel days up in the other report before too long - and they can help to whet your appetite. |

Ah no, the "sota" is for Sarasota . The nearest I get to the other one is over the border in north western Ontario.
I hope your DS enjoys his Latin . I've actually found it so useful - a lot more so than some of the other subjects I studied (Economics springs to mind). I draw the line at Tacitus though. We also love the optional anchovies and the library book sales. Thanks for a very entertaining and informative report. Edited at 11:22 PM. |

Ah, shame.
And, yes - Poot has already discovered how useful Latin is - despite not being old enough to quote Catullus to girlfriends... But I don't know how you can say that about friend Tacitus - surely he is the most relevant of Romans these days? Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges...and all that. Thanks for answering my nosy question! |

My latin education was straight out of How To Be Topp
The teacher was Mr Chips and his lesson plans were pre war (the first one) How about nunc est bibendum ? Because the Dibb is obviously the place to swap Latin epigrams |

Mais oui bien sûr! And...it's five o'clock somewhere, right? Love that about your teacher - giggle - but I won't lie, when I found out that my (now) husband had both Latin and Greek - I thought it was pretty sexy. Even if he remembers less Catullus and more "Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres"... |
