We're booked for August. Yes the US borders are still closed but a lot can change between now and then so I'm remaining optimistic and ignoring the regular pessimistic posts 🤗

We are seeing an increase in travel insurance purchases at work ( Insurance industry) which is surprising as we offer no Covid cover whatsoever

As in cover for cancellation due to Covid or paying for Covid treatment overseas?

I guess if it’s no to the former then people are happy to book within the terms and conditions of the provider... TUI, BA and others have some pretty flexible booking policies at the moment which I guess will be enticing people. We also know over the past 12 months or so which companies are good at refunds and which definitely aren’t.

I guess if it’s the latter, then people will be hoping they’re jabbed up before they travel and are sufficiently confident in the vaccine significantly reducing serious Covid symptoms/mortality.

Hopefully they'll be some news in April about the US when Boris and co update on international travel. You'd hope that as part of that conversation they'll be speaking to other countries for an indication on what they're doing.

I’m trying to remain optimistic, only thing that will stop us is Covid Passports and Quarantine. Still working extra shifts (on a covid ward of all places ! ) for extra spends $$$
We’re all booked and paid for - Flights, hotel, car, tickets (Disney days booked) 🙏🌈

Unfortunately I have given up on my September trip, and moved it to next year due to not having been able to work since last March (I work in theatre) and looking like end of June will be earliest for a return, so had to be realistic that I could not afford it. Still will look forward to next year instead... won't miss the 50th celebrations thankfully as they are running through to March 2023

I love spreading cheer like that!

The decision will be based more around the vaccinations percentages in the future because the higher percentage this is, the lower the number of people in hospital... and less deaths.

After that - am I optimistic about when we go in September? Damn right - I'm hoping for no masks in outdoor public places and masks indoor is absolutely fine by me.

We'll know by April/May where UK and Florida are for sure.
True, i mean todays figures are 133 deaths. so 10's by may i dont see as unrealistic.

i have vegas booked for september, im 99.9% positive ill be going
