It does feel like they issue a few too many warnings. The only people that care about these warnings is the news media when they've got nothing better to report.

I mean, I know it's hot today but the temperature isn't close to the hottest it's ever been.

Also, an "amber extreme heat warning" sounds weird.

Don't bother with the portable air con units unless you can sleep through a 747 engine on take off, and you can't seal the window the hose sticks out out of or you are cooling the entire country.
