I'm going to 2 nice meals with different groups of friends, 2 Xmas afternoon teas at local hotels, and a couple of local Xmas fairs / farmers markets etc. DD and I are at DLP at the end Nov / beginning Dec for the xmas decs, then DH retires the same week and DS family are coming for a couple of nights so I have a family party to organise; I'm taking DH away the next weekend for an overnight stay near York so we might go to Castle Howard.
I really missed all this fun stuff last year - more than actual Xmas!

We have Chessington booked for mid December so dd can see Father Christmas as feel like this will be the last year she’ll want to as 11 next year 😭
We went to Manchester Christmas market this weekend (meh) have York Christmas market at the end of the month and have an event at Hampton court palace on the 18th dec which is another light walk type thing but looks really different.

If that's Waddesdon, it's very pretty some years, other less so. Go while the Christmas Market is on, plan time to go down the woodland walk, there are often lights at the dairy. The light show on the house is often spectacular (but again a mixed bag imo).

I've not been but Blenheim may be more reliable.

There is a light walk at Waddesdon Manor (not far from aylesbury). Not sure what the rules are about dogs.

We get in free because we are national trust members.

Some years the light walk there is better than others- let's just say that.

We recommend th3 mulled wine from the bar down the path to the left of the Manor as you looking at it from the front.

But I agree with caj about the Christmas huts although some of them can be a bit samey.

Polar Express is amazing, my boy is 10 now so not really interested in this sort of thing. Trying to think where to go Christmas Eve, I fancied Beamish but again he not keen.

Fenwicks window is very meh!
