Furlough scheme

So on the first lockdown I worked through and didnít take furlough leave, doing caretaking shifts as the hotel I work in was closed. Looks like we will be closing again this week can I take furlough this time or is it all one scheme ?

As far as I am aware although the new scheme is an extension of the CJRS it is actually a new version of it, as the old scheme officially ended yesterday. Therefore I see no reason why there should be a problem with you taking it this time. I am sure there will be those that had come off the scheme as the rules relaxed that will now find themselves in the same position. As for me I haven't worked since March 16th (I work in theatre which is still closed for the foreseeable future) so an extension is welcome as I was unsure what I would have been doing once it ended.

It really depends on whether your employer will opt to furlough you.

If you didnít do it for three weeks in June you canít be on the scheme.

You may qualify for the new JSS scheme if your employer agrees and qualifys.

Yes, you can take furlough if offered by your employer.

All employers with a UK bank account and UK PAYE schemes can claim the grant. Neither the employer nor the employee needs to have previously used the CJRS.

The BBC have a good summary here:

bbc/news/explainers-52135342

You don't have to be furloughed before, and need to be on the payroll at 30/10/2020
