Not necessarily. We’ve booked same day result Pcrs at a testing centre near Edinburgh airport. Not cheap, £99 each, and I know the US hasn’t demanded them (yet!) but I had to get something sorted to retain my sanity!
They had loads of testing centres of this type.

If a PCR is required it's unlikely that a postal kit that you do yourself would be accepted. Canada don't accept antigen tests so you need a PCR and they say "Travellers should have their test performed at a reputable laboratory or testing facility".
For our Canada trip last week we had ours done by Randox in Dublin on the Sunday afternoon for flying Wednesday. They said results would be emailed by 23.59pm the following day but we had ours by 2am on the Monday morning. Edited at 03:51 PM. |
