This advice is meaningless.
Better advice would be to make sure your vaccinations are up to date including boosters if eligible, wear your mask, social distance, sanitise, and maximise ventillation.

Advising an ageing population not to travel is ridiculous.

We're 72 and 78 and the WHO (the organisation, not the band that I remember fondly from the 60s!) can keep their advice. We've followed every rule, we're triple jabbed and unless we test positive, we're spending Christmas with our children and grandchildren in LA 🎄🎅🇺🇸

im afraid its a fact!...i work on a busy medical ward and back March last year we all caught covid...Myself (62) and two colleges of similar age were very ill with it for 3 weeks but the young ones on the ward hardly knew they had it..Thats not guaranteed of course that it will happen in that way but that is the trend..

I think you will find the majority are still unvaccinated older people, of course there are some young(even in ICU) but much fewer numbers...The children in schools that are being infected right now hardly realize they have this until proven positive

I had Covid only lost my sence of taste and smell (18 months on taste is a hit or a miss most day smell has never returned ) DH had it literally a annoying tickly cough for 2 days we are both 60
DS his wife both had it absolutely floored DIL was particularly bad cough high temp the lot
Neither they or DH have any lasting effects
I do but because they are so similar to fibromyalgia issues apart form smell / taste getting a long Covid diagnosis is rarer than hens teeth
Yes if I can back out here to the villa in just under 6 weeks I will
Im done with this if Id still been working a nurse Id have had to go to work
