Carpet cleaner recommendations

Hi,

I need to buy a carpet cleaner but there seems to be lots of options! Does anyone have one they'd recommend? Under Ł200 preferably. I looked into hiring but I think it will be more cost effective to have my own due to pets/children I need to clean carpets quite often!

We have a Vax, think it was exactly Ł200, just about the best thing we ever bought... apart from the hot tub maybe!

I bought a Vax Platinum Power, its is excellent. Comes with a free steam cleaner.

Says carpets are dry within an hour, not sure about that but it does a very good job.
