We stayed in a cabin at Yosemite West, within the park but up the mountain away from the valley floor. Easy to get to Glacier Point, Mariposa Grove and the valley floor with no queueing to get in the park! Just need to remember to buy all your food before arrival as there aren't any grocery stores. It was lovely and quiet and suited us well.

Hi again have a look at Yosemite view lodge at el portal ,it’s beside the bnb we stayed in , cheaper than valley floor and easy access. Small bar and restaurant on site.If price isn’t a factor then obviously valley floor is great and also enables early access to some of the trails before they get to crowded

We stayed at Yosemite View Lodge just outside the national park. Absolutely LOVED it. Quite old fashioned but clean, big rooms, jacuzzi bath and the best view we have ever had from a hotel room.

Ah a view of the river. We stayed in the blue butterfly bnb beside the hotel
We watched a black bear feeding at the side of the river while having breakfast on the decking overlooking the river

Another vote for Yosemite View Lodge.

It was basic and a bit old fashioned but having our balcony over the racing river was very special. The rooms were massive and there was a small pool if you wanted to cool off.

It was a lot cheaper than staying inside the park!

We stayed inside the park in a place called Wawona. A rustic cabin with a hot tub. Here’s the link: scenicwonders/yosemi...side-birdhouse

So jealous of anyone planning a trip to Yosemite, we stayed in the park in Yosemite Valley Lodge, park was really quite as it had only just reopened after the 2018 wildfires, we did have a powercut while we were there which was eerie but also quite special
Loved our time there

Also stayed there and agree it was a lovely hotel. It's about a 45 min drive from the valley basin itself. The only down side is that driving back in the evening with those roads along the side of the cliff could be a bit hair raising but that's going to be an issue regardless of where you stay I reckon.
