Mobile Vista Cay with Virgin

Hi,

We're staying at Vista Cay later this year in a 2 bed deluxe, booked via Virgin. Are there any areas we should try to request? Any tips for staying on this resort?

Thanks

We’ve stayed at Vista Cay twice, once booked through Thomas Cook and once with Charter Travel. From experience the accommodation varied slightly between the two. With Thomas Cook I believe they used accommodation rented from Millennium (the main Vista rental agency) which was of a slightly higher standard than the second time which were units owned by Charter Travel. Difficult to say what to ask for as various companies own the different townhouses and so will be furnished to slightly different standards. Theres also a lot which are privately owned. To be honest all should be of a decent standard. Location wise there’s not really a prefered area as all are very similar and non really overlook a main road. If you get one which is south facing you can see any fireworks Seaworld set off (if they still have evening displays).

Its a great location as its fairly quiet (at the moment. In several years theres a chance a new Universal park will be built across the main road) but very easy for getting to Disney and Universal (5 mins easy drive and your onto i4, just follow Univeral Blvd, which its on, and you be in Universal in 10 mins). Its a bit disconnected as its in a quiet area but suprising how close it is to iDrive and the parks.

Very easy to get two from the airport, especially if you aren’t used to driving in the US. A bit less convenient if you don’t have a car though as not many shops or restaurants in walking distance apart from a small Publix, Chinese and Pizza takeaways on site. There is a shortcut to a large Walmart which takes 10mins drive.

Its definately somewhere we’d stop at again if price is right.

Thanks Winner3131. We have a car and I realise there's not much within easy walking distance. Stayed at Rosen Inn at Pointe last time and loved the location but not the cramped room! Reassuring to hear your views on the resort, thanks.

We were a bit dubious when Thomas Cook suggested it. We’d not heard of it before and it was first time to Orlando but glad we took their suggestion. Stayed there 2013 and 2015 and looking into stopping there again next summer but looks like prices have risen enough that its out of our price range unless we can get a deal

Next year's prices are crazy! Had a look today for Oct 2019 - even Rosen at Pointe was £6060 for 2ad 2ch for 2 weeks flights and hotel - no Thanks!

Vista Cay is great. Could be a good investment opportunity also if Universal build a new park right next door!

Head right out of Vista Cay (we left via the exit by the shop and takeaways) and then left at the crossroads onto Destination Parkway. Follow that road until John Young Parkway. Can either turn left along it and Walmart is on the right or can go straight across and that road brings you in round the back of Walmart. Only takes about 5 mins and saves having to head up Universal Blvd and across Sand Lake road. We found it by accident.
