Calling Aberdonians
Hi. Need help. Daughters uni graduation is in June - 630pm start (what’s that all about time wise?)... anyway I digress. Can someone suggest a decent restaurant preferably with parking on the outskirts of Aberdeen for a meal to celebrate her now having an honours degree in Marine Biology ! Thank you in advance.

When you say decent- we talking fine dining or...? I would suggest The Ashvale but then I'm not typically a fancy or expensive diner. If you are I think you might struggle to find quality combined with parking on the outskirts... would be a chain type place. But happy to be corrected!

Hi, depends on budget and what you mean by outskirts. The Marcliffe, The Chester Hotel, Malmasion are all lovely but high £. More middle of road is The Atholl Hotel, Cults Hotel or Ferryhill House hotel. All of these have car parks. In the city centre on Union Street you'll find Miller and Carter if you like a good steak. No parking but city centre car parks available. Hope this helps

Thanks for replies. Def dont want or do fine dining. Am looking for somewhere for a nice meal before the graduation. It’s such a stupid time and we’ve to be back in Edinburgh for the following morning ! She’s suggested an afternoon tea so we may go that route - again suggestions for that gratefully received.

Kirkview is central, beside Union Terrace. Lots of parking options under 5 mins walk away and they do afternoon tea.

Is the Graduation at the Beach Ballroom?
If so the Sand Dollar on the Beach front could fit the bill. They would probably have something on during graduations. A surprising choice some would say, I did, until we tried it ourselves. A step up from a traditional beach side cafe. |

If it at the beach ballroom then you have the restaurants near the cinema complex. They are chain restaurants TGI fridays, Pizza Hut, frankie & bennies, Bella pizza etc. Plenty of free parking which is a novelty in Aberdeen
