I have been hearing about the car hire prices too, and I thought I heard it explained about there being such a demand now for rental cars because everyone wants to travel now with the pandemic easing up.

They filed bankruptcy and off loaded 1000s of cars crazily cheap. Now they can’t buy cars due to the super chip rarity

Then travel has resumed within the US...more people traveling than cars. I wish I had a $ for every post I see on a WDW page for people arriving for vacay to no car available despite a booking!

How are Uber/Lyft doing over there? Are there enough of them to keep up with demand or is the gig economy suffering from the labour shortage too?

There hasn’t been a labour shortage with Uber/Lyft, but their business did drop off a lot during the height of the pandemic as people were having to stay home and everything was closed. A lot of Uber drivers turned to food delivery work, as that part of the business exploded with restaurants only doing takeout and delivery for a long time. Now that everything is reopening more and more, the ride share business is going back up again.

For those wondering about park tickets, We booked ours a couple of days ago ( for this August ) and made our park reservations at the same time, the tickets are valid until June 2023.

Disneyland is my first love but whenever I go to Universal, it's always feels very special and I have a great time. I just wish it were closer to me, I know I would go more often.
