No you don’t - well I don’t . I get 35 paid days leave plus public holidays a year - you earn the holiday (but I may be old school )

I believe we recruit in our graduate scheme from Jan to June to start the training in July - and we have over 100k employees worldwide so the scheme is huge but as such has to be well structured so you need to apply early to gain a place (after all the numerous selection panels etc )

Exactly

And let’s not forget they have pretty long holidays whilst having 3 years at uni , far more than you get in the work place ...

Yes definitely claim jobseekersx
Yes have a holiday .. but pay for it yourself not by claiming Universal Credit

To claim that you have to be available for work and show you are actively seeking work ..
Can’t do that whilst on holiday ..

My son is out of Uni 2 years and started work straight away. Yes he had a holiday that year but as part of his holiday entitlement from work. My daughter graduates this year. She works part time whilst at Uni and her plans are to increase her hours there if she doesn’t get a job in her chosen field straight away. I think a holiday is nice but I wouldn’t class it as a necessity. I think trying to get a job after graduation is the way to go and fit holidays around that.

How do you know Bondy isnt paying for it? Why not have a hoiday first no matter who pays and claim after, what's wrong with that? You can job search after your break, as I said, you spend your whole life working !

I finished Uni, had a lovely holiday then looked for a job, was fine...

Ok you know what i mena, once you start work its all the way till retirement isnt it. I will encourage my children to take some time out after uni, a holiday or travel if they want then after claim benefits until you can find a job.

Well if they can fund the travel themselves then crack on

However mine would be asked & expected to look for a job before embarking on Travel.. and any money they had would be better spent on living than a holiday surely ?
Heck Uni isn’t hard look how many weeks off they have a year ..

No wonder the benefit system is a mess in this country

Yes if they can fund it why not, also why not let the parents pay for a family holiday too, id would. I wouldnt ever encourage to claim benefits before a holiday / travel, only once ready to look for work of course,

I don’t know what degree your children are studying, but my daughter (and many others) are working very hard for their degrees. She had a long Christmas break but revised for exams every day apart from 3 days at Christmas

Again, I’m not saying claiming benefits after uni is right or wrong. I don’t think a short break before going into work is a bad thing as many students have had a lot of stress while studying (as despite many people’s opinions, many do not party for 3-6 years) I would prefer my daughter to secure a job before travelling and start after her short holiday but I can see why a holiday would be beneficial if at all possible (without claiming benefits as she wouldn’t be entitled to claiming not actively seeking work)
