I just realised the other day that I have no one in my life. I have my children and husband but I have no friends.

What a sad state to get to 38 and have no one to pick up the phone and have a chat with.

You have us Minnie 😀 . I don’t have a lot of friends in the ‘real’ world either but I’m happy with my own company and my family a lot of the time. I’ve never been someone who needs lots of friends and socialising.

Don’t worry I am the exact same. I have my DH, 2 boys and that is it! No friends or family and you know what I’m pretty happy really. Always liked my own company!

This. I don’t really have many friends and never really have, due to bullying and abuse as a child and being socially isolated. As a child I spent most of my time in my own company and as a result I have real issues with allowing people to get close to me (especially in a ‘friend’ way) I just feel crowded most of the time. I do have a couple of friends who I see and speak to every few weeks but that’s all. I am very family orientated though so am happy spending time with DH and children. But I do sometimes miss just having someone to chat to. That’s why I come on here too lol 😊

I’m in the same boat, I work 7 days a week and my family live close but other than dh and my boys I don’t generally see or speak to anyone

I’m one of those who had a big family and lots of friends. My parents died so my family broke apart, I got divorced and found a new partner so my friends all changed... I have a few now but it’s not like it was.
I’m often glad about it because life feels a lighter burden, so occasionally I miss a friend to chat to.

If it makes you feel better my best friends are now my work colleagues. That’s life some times... I have everything I need and sometimes you all just grow apart. I’m lucky in the fact when I do see my older friends it’s as if our last convo was yesterday but we’d never purposely go out of our way to see or make plans with each other.

It is sad that childhood experiences can affect us so many years later 😔 . I completely understand what you mean about feeling crowded, if I am at a social gathering although I look perfectly happy and chat to people I actually feel crowded and very uncomfortable.

I’m very happy with how I live my life though. My children and husband have been my life and I’ve never felt as if I’m missing out by not having a large circle of friends. I do enjoy chatting on here regularly though 😀
