Kitchen 'health' grills
I hate that name for them but you know what I mean - I've had a George Foreman grill for a couple of years but now the non-stick is starting to peel so time to get a new one. I do use it a lot so now I'm willing to spend more money (this one was about £20) to get a decent one and it must have plates that can be removed for washing!
What do people have that they recommend please? |

Had a George Foreman for years and it always annoyed me that it didn't have removable plates.
Now have a Tefal Optigrill and find it excellent - it gets a lot of use and the plates just go straight in the dishwasher. |

We have a George Foreman with removable plates and it’s good.
We upgraded from the George Foreman without removable plates too - it never felt like it was properly clean. |

The Optigrill is the Rolls Royce of grills, but I’m on our second as they can break. Nothing touches them though for meat, steaks (restaurant quality cook) and toasties.

You won’t regret it they are excellent. We use ours nearly every day. Need some fresh plates for it now which can be bought from Tefal website.
Our first one broke (kept switching off) and we bought a second straight away.

Steaks are fantastic on it but the toasties are legendary- my kids friends ask how come they are so nice.
Secret is it gets much hotter than toastie makers/ George Foreman etc. There is a brilliant documentary on Netflix US (don’t think it’s on UK but check) called Steak revolution about how basically the UK type of steak (Angus) has penetrated all markets. They go to the best steak houses around the world, and even visit a farm near me. In that they are using an Optigrill to cook the steaks.
