Queue time for FOP straight after rope drop
Hi All,
Worried a little about FOP and having no chance of getting a fast pass for it. If I went straight there from rope drop what sort of wait can I expect? Thanks! |

You need to be there at least an hour before rope drop, if you get there at rope drop it will probably already be 3 hours! They have been starting running the ride before rope drop time.
The other option is to get in the queue just before closing time. |

Getting Excited
|
Last summer they let everyone in the park before the actual opening time, but held everyone just before Pandora. When the park then opened they funnelled everyone into Pandora with the majority going to FOP. We got there at around 8.15 one morning and were off the ride at about 9.20.
They might be letting people into Pandora earlier now, and then starting the ride slightly earlier. |

In October we arrived about 8:20 for a 9:00 Park opening. At 8:30 they started letting people in but we were then held on the bridge to Pandora until 8:45. We were about half way in the middle of the crowd and were off the ride by 9:20. The queue time was showing at 180 mins when we got off.

We had similar experience a couple of weeks ago. Arrived 7.15 for an 8.00 opening. They started letting people in around 7.35. We were off the ride by 8.30. Queue time very quickly hit 210 mins

You still end up queuing for about an hour from when you arrive at the gate but it doesn’t feel that bad as you’re moving for most of it. I’ve waited half hour or so for a normal rope drop so it’s definitely worth it!

I'm honestly a bit concerned by this - Definitely aiming for FOP this visit as I narrowly missed out on Pandora being open by about a month last time and I will have no subsequent trips planned after this next one. Trouble is, no matter where it goes in a touring plan, the forecast wait time is 200 minutes and the plan actually fails to reconcile (due to running for longer than the park opening hours) unless I do it after rivers of light and queue for a forecast 90 minutes from 9:15 to 10:45 - apart from finding it doubtful they'd run the ride quite such a long time after closing, that's going to be a hell of a day. Not sure I want one of the highlights of the trip to be when we're all completely exhausted, or indeed for it to be sullied by a queue spanning into three figures, which is something I managed to avoid entirely last trip, if only by surrendering a couple of rides I'd done before.
It would seem that FP+ reservations for off-site 30-day guests are effectively non-existent for FoP so I am having to strongly consider "pre-rope drop" which is not something I've ever had to do before. I can't really see FOP not ruining the day otherwise though. I've never seen anything produce such enormous forecast queue times on an off-season weekday before, it's nuts.
