Its a deal breaker for me, I wouldn't stay onsite without it as the cost for a family of 6 it just is not worth it.

It depends on the alternative offer. I can struggle to see a world in which we don’t go next September, but in what form that trip takes is up for debate. I love staying on site and we love all the benefits that come with it, so will try to keep that as part of our trip where possible.

I’m just going to wait and see, I’m already worried about two weeks in one room so if there’s not a great offer instead of free DDP then I’ll go off site

If there’s no DDP and the replacement offer (we know there will be an offer!) isn’t good/suitable for us, then we won’t be off to see the mouse, and will likely go for a different holiday all together.

There is a reason that less than 25% of DVC owners buy DDP & I'm guessing of them the vast majority only buy it as pre-paid food, it's a wash financially. When it was first brought out it was designed to save between 10-20% but bear in mind it also included tips.On current break down you need to be spending approx. £35 per TS just to break even. But if you were buying meals on-site for 2 weeks then it is a way of pre-paying food but it is also very easy to eat off-site for half that cost.

We'd probably stay at a moderate (not deluxe), if no DDP, or potentially split stay with offsite as wouldn't want to be paying OOP for Disney food for two weeks.

We are considering a Universal hotel if free dining isn't offered.

A few points-
Davids DVC rental has been notoriously slow to increase rental costs- they hardly ever do and most DVC owners think they charge too little. Sometimes people rent out quite cheaply on Dibb (too cheaply in my view if you see points at £10 each, snap their hands off). As Shooby said above, <25% of DVC owners get dining plan (I did a big survey on a DVC site where we had 600+ answers). There is a reason for this- when paying cash it is not good value. Get an Instacart delivery and have breakfast in room. Get lots of bottled drinks delivered and take into the park. Even consider getting some ham etc and rolls and taking them in for lunch - doesn't sound great but being able to stop when you want, where you want and just have a quick sandwich without queuing made a very nice change sometimes. Eat more quick service. Get a Landrys card. Loads of things you can do to save cash- and eat healthier. We spent about $30-35 a head a day last year all in on food.

I'll still stay on site. Being a solo, non-driving visitor it's the best option for me.
