Hi lovely dibbers
i have just booked our first ever WDW hols - CBR preferred room - 14 nights from 9th Feb 19 & just wondering what peoples thoughts are on how the construction will affect our time there, if at all?
I was in 2 minds with booking this but kids really wanted CBR & i want to know as much as poss before we go so i am prepared in case they are a bit disappointed.
Thanks in advance

We are also considering booking a CBR preferred or water view room for late October 2019. Are any of these close to the construction of either the new resort or the skyliner towers. Thanks

Me too!

I also feel I have invested so many hours reading this CBR thread that I have to stay there now or all the hours spent with you guys (quietly reading) will all be a lie!

😳

Hi Scarla,

As you're in a preferred room, you'll probably be in Trinidad North or depending on when/if they switch back to Martinique being preferred you may be there.
Trinidad 31 was always preferred too & if you can I'd request Trinidad North closer to the time.

The only works going on in 2019 should be gondola and Riviera, but from what I'm reading these works don't seem to be too disruptive. I know it seemed noisey in the Tim tracker vlog, but on FB and other forums the general concensus is that it's not too disturbing. Just looks a bit ugly in parts.

I'm booked to go back to CBR next year and am really looking forward to the new OPR and check in being at OPR rather than at Custom House - I always found that a bit weird having check in/front desk as a separate building.

Anyway I'm sure it'll be fine, I bet your kids will love it, the main pool is fab!
We've always loved CBR. First stayed there 10 years ago and still going back 😊

Hi,

Waterview rooms could be lake side or pool side rooms in Jamaica and Aruba, also Martiniqie at the moment but maybe not in 2019.

Poolside rooms shouldn't be affected by building works by 2019. Although I've read that the gondola will pass over/near Aruba pool, so I'm keeping an eye on that.

If it's the same price I'd get preferred, nice & close to main pool and food court, so easy to get to.

By the time you go the Riviera resort and gondola should either be up and running or almost ready. But preferred has the advantage of proximity to food court, check in, shop, pool and you could still get a water view 😊

Thanks for your reply & the tip on room request, this has put my mind at rest a bit
