Following on from the other thread, did you grow up with anyone who's now famous?

My brother (who's 60 now) used to play with Amy Winehouse's dad when they were children.

Apparently I went to school with some famous footballers (I only know that because of the school's FB page and mentions they get) although I have absolutely no idea who they are!

A good friend of mine taught Matt Smith (ex Dr Who). When she told me he was in her class, I assumed they'd gone to school together, I forget how old we are

Anyone else got any cool stories?

Christopher Ecclestone (another Dr. Who ) was a year below my wife at school. She knew him but wasn’t friends as such.
His family still lives local to us and we used to regularly see him jogging around the area.

I don't think there's any A listers from Derby but I did know Jack O'Connell (Skins) and Lauren Socha (Misfits) growing up. Jack dated a friend of mine right before he filmed skins and Lauren was always a friend of a friend.

My friends half brother is Peter Cox from Go West. I remember seeing him for the first time when I was about 10 or 11 and not having a clue who he was just that he sung the opening song in Pretty Woman!
