Swapping QS for snacks

New to us, but I've read that it's a standard thing, and also read on here that people have been refused.

Is it still a possibility and if so how?

You can still do it, but not not all food places will accept it. It's more common in resorts and anywhere that sells lots of snacks (eg sweets etc). In fact, I've had staff come up to me in the sweet emporium on Main Street and suggest that I can swap a QS for 3 SCs!

You're going at a great time as you can exchange 1 QS for 3 snacks at EPCOT food and wine! Just order the 3 items you want and ask to use a QS credit for it instead of snacks.

You are still allowed to swap QS for snacks. We did this everywhere around wdw this year without a problem. 1QS=3 snacks.

I haven't heard of anyone being refused for this.

It is the swapping the drink element of QS for an extra snack instead of drink that is now being refused. Can do this in resorts but not in parks

You just need to do it all at once so you can't save one of the snacks for later for example. We've done it in Sunshine Seasons and Goofy's Candy Co. last year. Haven't had the credits to do it this year!

We did this at the end of our last holiday in 2015 it was fantastic. We ended up with over 30 bags of sweets, Rice Krispie mickeys, lollies, biscuits etc. It was very easy to do this in the sweet emporium on Main Street and the lovely cm told me straight away that I still has credits left and had some great suggestions on how to capitalise on them. We only stayed onsite for 7 nights.

Refused at 3 places in Epcot (even popped into Guest Services who didn't know anything about this) - then on way out tried again at coffee stall and swapped our last QS for 3 cookies.

I think it's just that not all the CS now how to do it / know it can be done.

Strange for guest services to not know about it! I swapped them many times at EPCOT, especially for flower and garden items and a lot of people do it at food and wine.
Ghiradelli seems to be a bad place for not knowing how to do it too though normally if you ask for another server/supervisor they'll do it for you.
I suppose Disney would prefer you to just not use any left over credits so it's not highly advertised or pushed.

We came back last week and swapped QS credits for 3 snacks at our resort POFQ, Amphill hills ice cream shop at the boardwalk, Starbucks, Goofys Candy Store and Fairfax Fayre in DHS with no problem. Also used QS credits to pay for friends meals who were staying offsite at Blaze Pizza and De Lux Burger. Swapped our drinks at POFQ for snacks if we had our mugs. Only had a few QS left on t helast day instead of 36 last time!
