Upgrade meal on lingus ?

Hi !
I see there's a meal upgrade option for aer lingus , is the standard one really that bad ? Is it worth the upgrade ? I'm not especially fussy , but I do enjoy eating lol

Standard meal is your typical airline food. Would probably rate it slightly higher than most to be fair. The upgraded meals are better and are basically business class without the additional frills.

Personally I've never been bothered, remember that on a flight your taste buds are on holiday too

So nothing tastes the same

We upgraded in 2015 was really good hubbie had the steak I had chicken. This yr we didnt bother but food was v poor so much so 3 out of 4 of us didnt eat it. Will def be upgrading next yr if we go with AL

We had this both outgoing and incoming in the last couple of weeks. The steak is a bit over cooked for my liking, but tasty and the chicken was good. The food is better going out than coming back, with different deserts. Great to have proper plates, knives and forks and a glass to drink the wine, and you get to eat before everyone else.

Definitely would upgrade going out again as you are eating around 4pm, but would mint bother in way back as it was around 10pm (and had a Burger King before getting on plane).

There are no upgraded kids meals - the only upgrades are steak/ chicken/ salmon.

No sure about standard meals

Ahh great info thank you ! Does anyone know about vegan food ? One of our group is vegan and it would be nice if the upgrade meant we could accommodate that
