Please can someone explain refillable cups to me?

Hi all!

I have the DDP booked for next November. All I know with the refillable cups is that they come as part of your plan.

I don't really know anything else about them though. Whats drinks can you get filled in it? Are these re-fills free each time or do you use a snack credit each time that you re-fill?

Can you take them into the parks with you to re-fill there or are they only for hotel use?

They're only for use in the hotel food courts so although you can take them into the parks you can't actually use them. You get free refills of fountain soft drinks (coke products) and tea/coffee.

Also hot chocolate! I loved using mine for hot chocolate in the evening.

I'm pretty sure Caribbean Beach has freestyle machines (if not I'm sure it will with the refurb) so there is a massive variety. A large amount of different flavours of coke/diet coke/Fanta, flat fruit drinks, lemonade and my favourite Pibb Xtra.
You can refill it as much as you like for free, it's very handy!

Don't forget you can use them in any of the hotels not just the one you are staying in.

The hot chocolate is DELICIOUS, and if you leave it to cool down and then pop it in the fridge, the next day it tastes like chocolate milk!

Pibb is incredible apart from in the freestyle machines and in cans I struggle to get it over there. Doesn't seem particularly popular but me and my partner love it!

The list of drinks that the "Freestyle" machines produce is extensive. They include every type of coke that I can think of, sparkling water in plain and with lime, Sprite, Fanta, Minute Maid and Powerade in various flavours - also I think Dr Peppers, Ginger Beer and Iced Tea.

You pick your mug up when you first go to the restaurant - usually there are 4 colours available so it's easier if everyone can pick a different colour. (Once you take the lids off though the mugs are identical so we stuck stickers on ours so that we wouldn't muddle them up - even if you wash them well you seem to be able to taste if your mug has had coffee in and then something else).

The cashier will "validate" your mug for the length of your stay - if you are staying longer than 14 days you may find your mug "expires" - just take it back to the till, explain you are on the UK dining package, and they will reactivate it for you.

You then take your mug and put it on the disk in the machine, add ice first if you don't want to be covered in whatever you are going to put in your mug , and then pick what you want from the screen and then press the "pour" button until you have enough.

There is a time delay so that you can't immediately fill up your mug again - I think it may be 10 minutes or so - but this would probably only ever bother you if you picked the wrong choice and wanted another drink immediately.

It doesn't seem popular, I know they serve it in Rainforest Cafe
I buy it sometimes from AmericanFizz.co.uk, £10 for a box of 12 cans, an expensive treat but worth it!

We are staying in one resort for 8 nights, 3 nights off site and then back to a Disney resort. Will our mugs work for our second stay as that is within the 14 days or will they be programmed to stop after the first 8 days?
