Into the Wilderness October 2017- first attempt at food report
Hi Everyone,
I had great intentions of photographing every SC we used whilst at Disney for 14 nights but the holiday took over, so this will be a bit random ( some off site, some Disney TS, QS and Snack) Let me introduce my family. I’m Minnie’s Mum- the main holiday planner. This is my 6 th trip to Orlando ( one as a child, 3 trips with eldest son, 2nd trip with Hubby and kids) however, this is our first only Disney trip and first without our eldest( 22 and at university- he took the money option instead!) Minnie’s dad- 2nd trip to Orlando and surprised us all by loving it last time. This was great news as enabled me to book the next trip. Middle son , N is 9 and a thrill seeker. Loved his first trip last year. Particularly enjoyed Universal but did enjoy Jedi training/ Star tour. Water parks and resort time( we stayed Club at AKL) also loved having his big brother with him. Minnie is the baby and has just turned 4. She is a girlie girl. Loves princesses. Enjoys swimming and is now big enough to ride 7 dwarf mine train which she is super excited about! Due to our jobs, I won’t feature pictures of us or the kids- so I apologies for some of the blurred out pictures. So we flew from Heathrow to Philly and then into Orlando ( BA/AA) We arrived late so stayed in the Hyett Regency over night and then drove to Wilderness Lodge the next Morning. Our first Meal was at KeKe Breakfast Cafe which was a lovely first meal. I had the Turtle French Toast which was delicious and iced Coffee. Minnie had the kids French toast ( and managed 2 slices) N had a kids waffle with a side of bacon and blueberry glaze which he loved. Hubby had the southwest Omelette which he enjoyed. ( sorry no photo) Edited at 07:13 PM. |

That evening we went to Chef Mickey for Dinner which we enjoyed. The buffet was vast and had a good selection of food. We each had a cocktail in the lounge next to CM.
Think mine was a grapefruit margarita and hubbys was a chocolate type thing?! Think with tip it was around $30 |

Sunday the 15th
Up and waiting to get into MK by 730 this morning. This was our first morning in Magic Kingdom and we headed straight to DWMT and managed to get on in 15 mins. Minnie loved it ( thanks goodness) and we headed to Gaston tavern for a reward brew and bun. (2 SC) The cinnamon bun was huge. It was big enough for the 4 of us to share as a pre- breakfast snack. The kids loved the brew but it was way to sweet for me after a mouthful. Nice and cold though and great place to stop for glasses of ice water ( they have a self service area just inside the door) We also bought Minnie one of the rose cups So got a fountain drink( in a separate cup) to go with this. |

We then had a later breakfast booked at BOG.
We had ordered 2 meals and a snack between the 4 of us and we would also have the pastry to share. N had the Cronut which he loved and ate it all- so much for sharing! Hubby had the open sandwich which he enjoyed ( sorry no photo) Minnie had the master cupcake and ate her dads fruit. I had some fruit and pastry. We all enjoyed our breakfast and was a great use of 2 QS and one snack. That evening we had dinner in our resort ‘Whispering Canyon Cafe’ which is TS family style resort service BBQ style food. Hubby and the kids had the skillet and I had the trout but was told that I could help myself to item from the skillet which was nice. The trout was lovely but the main attraction was the fun and games that take places. Our waiter was fab and it was one of N favourite restaurant of the holiday. |
