The refurb has made it look nice and fresh, but I read that since it reopened the portions have now shrunk there as well!

Hiya, just thought I'd add my experience.

We went to Nine Dragons this time as we loved it last time we went 3 years ago. We were really looking forward to it but this time we were disappointed.

We ordered the assorted appetizers for 2 - ok, passable but not brilliant. Then before we'd even finished eating them they brought the main courses to us.

DW had ordered the beef in black bean sauce with green peppers while I had gone for Kung Bau(?) chicken. We sent them back when we did try eating them as they were cold and looked like they'd been on the plate for about an hour under hot lights.

They brought fresh food back and we ate it, but both dishes were so salty that I only managed to eat about half of mine before calling it quits (unheard of for Chinese food!). DW said the same about hers, so that also remained virtually untouched.

We didn't bother with a desert and just ordered coffees.

We noticed that the mneu seems to have been reduced and they appear to be rushing customers through in order to get more people through the door. The portions of food were also a heck of a lot smaller than last time (although we only ate a small amount anyway!).

We will not be visiting this one again.

Sorry to hear your experience was similarly disappointing. It was one of our faves and I hate to see it go downhill like this.
Our food was extremely salty too.

They are going to undergo a major refurbihment next year, so I'm hoping for improvements.

Going on the horrible new menu at the next door Lotus Blossom though I'm not holding my breath
