Wales holiday cottages/area?
We’re thinking about spending a week in Wales at the beginning of sept.
I’m just wondering where would be best to stay, and if anyone has recommendations for holiday cottage companies for North Wales? We would like to stay somewhere not too remote (within a couple of miles of a little town with restaurants/shops). And would like to visit snowdon, zipworld, portmerion, maybe visit a cave/mine, some king of water activity - rafting or kayaking. |

We stayed at bwthyn clyd near Llangollen booked through cottages. Com last august for a week. It was absolutely gorgeous. Booked around three weeks before when we knew we would definitely be allowed so can't speak for terms refunds with cottages. Com.
In addition to what you can see on the website there were horses in the fields in front of the cottages there, and the sofa was a sofa bed, as well as double and twin. Views from cottage were amazing. Small outdoor area but no garden as such. We booked activities with whitewater active in Llangollen who were great and very good in changing covid conditions delaying final payment till rules for our trip confirmed. Also went caving at go below nr betws y Coed. Both companies reasonably priced. We enjoyed nearby viaduct views, aldi on outskirts of Llangollen and the town itself was beautiful. Did a self driving tour around snowdon area(lots of places to stop for views) as the train wasn't going all the way to the top last summer due to covid. Also visted chester zoo from Llangollen. So beautiful we will go back another time but giving Somerset a go this year. |

I don’t know if the link will work This area is good for visiting Snowdonia it’s around an hour away it’s not too far from the coast you could get to Talacre in about 20/25 mins Mold is a market town where there is a market Wednesday and Saturday. There’s a medieval castle in Flint about a 10 minute drive from Mold Ruthin is another nice town to visit and you can also get to Chester in around 20 mins. Plenty of nice pubs in the area too.

This is our go to place: snowdonia-cottages/
Been loads of times and hopefully will go again this year. In the centre of the village so there’s a shop and a range of cafes, pubs in easy walking distance. The cottages are lovely, private parking and each cottage has a little garden plus everything in them you might need. Beddgelert itself is beautiful and the scenery is breath taking. Lots of walks from the cottage too. X
