Hello! That was such a nice message. I love hearing the excitement about visiting here. You’ve chosen some good things to do while you are here. Even though it’s a short visit, I am sure you will enjoy yourselves!

Excited about Disney

Hi Aims
I have read most if the thread with interest - its been going a few years so the early messages you responded to are probably out of date now! But i did read the later ones too so i think i'm up to speed with all SD has to offer. We are all booked for 4 nights next October (22-26), before we drive to LA. we are staying at the Bahaia - and i did read your warning that it's "dated" but the price, location and kitchenette swung it for us. We will spend some time riding coasters at Seaworld and want to spend an evening soaking up the atmosphere in the Gaslamp area. But as its our first stop, we want to relax a bit and use the beach. I see the weather is not bad, but not hot that time of year - so the water park is probably out. Although i am happy to take any advice you offer, having read this thread, you seem to have covered all my questions with others! So this message is more of a "thank you" as its been an invaluable resource. |

Wow, thank you Vertigo 😊 That was a really nice message and I appreciate hearing this thread was so helpful to you.
The Bahia is in a lovely location, and though being an older property, it always looks clean and well-maintained. Hopefully by next October, you will be able to take a ride on the hotel’s sternwheeler boat, the Bahia Belle (in the photo). It’s been closed because of Covid guidelines but fingers crossed it will be operating when you are there because it’s a unique little experience. October is usually a nice weather month- a bit of summer heat still hangs around and the days can be pleasantly warm (as it was this year), and nights cool. You should still find it nice beach weather overall, though obviously not as hot as summer. You said you feel up to speed on SD and that’s great, but if you ever do have any questions please ask anytime. 😊 Bahia Belle

Oh without doubt I will be asking as the date gets closer and we hone our plan!
The trolley is a definite and I want to do Midway but I might be on my own for that as it’s not my girls thing at all... they will probably do the zoo while I am there as I am not a fan of zoos personally. But I will be checking in with you as time passes on 2021! Thanks again, even if I wasn’t going to SD it’s a great read! |

I've just read through and there's some great advice there. We are ending our road trip for 4 nights on PB. We was supposed to have gone in 2018 but due to health issues we had to cancel. We are planning to do the Midway, beach, Old town and would like to do a whale tour and a ghost tour. We are coming mid October and can't wait. Thanks for all your excellent advice and fingers 🤞 we get there.

Good to see you posting Aims! Saw the thread was bumped and it brought back great memories of our SD trip. I guess you guys are getting back to some type of normality now with brighter days ahead (or do you guys get the June gloom too ) Thing are slower here but fingers crossed we'll all be back over your way soon enough.

What a nice message, thank you! 😊 I know I haven’t posted here much in recent months, but everything slowed down so much with people not being able to plan trips the last year, there hasn’t been much need for my input lol. It looks like we are finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel now, so hopefully this forum (and I) will get very active soon! 😃
Life here is...s l o w l y...getting some normalcy back. California is holding up pretty well and there is a plan to reopen California without restrictions on June 15th. This should mean that our theme parks will likely start allowing out-of-state visitors to attend after that date. Good news for all Dibbers! Hopefully the international flying ban will be lifted soon after 🤞 I am sending out hopes and good vibes that you can all start making without-a-doubt travel plans very soon! P.S. Yes, we still have that June gloom to come lol...in fact, there is a lot of May grey going on right now, too...

Hey...just popping into this thread to say that I have just done some much needed maintenance on the main information post. If any of you have been using this thread to get some trip planning ideas for San Diego and ran into some broken links, I apologize for that. I have fixed the links and also did some minor updates on some of the attractions and restaurants info- a few things have changed since the pandemic started!
