I’ve decided to go ahead and cancel the WDTC booking. I had considered moving mine and Marie’s to next year but it seems we wouldn’t keep the gift card so I can’t really see the value in doing that. Instead we’ll get the deposit refunded and it can go towards tickets.
I’ve also put a deposit down on tickets via ATD as with the Dibb Ł10 off and the free Galaxy’s Edge magic band it was a better deal than direct with Disney. |

You are really tempting me with your Swan and Dolphin plans. Given the lack of a dining plan this year and the ability to walk to two parks, this location really seems like something I should give more consideration to. I'm excited to see that your mum and dad are coming back with you too. My parents have said no to foreign travels this year, I'm hopeful they will get back on the wagon next year.
Fingers crossed this trip goes ahead I'm rooting for you.

Staying at the Boardwalk in 2018 really spoiled us for the location. If free dining had been offered we’d have stayed at Disney but without it the price of the Dolphin becomes more attractive. The hotel is really nice and we didn’t get time to use the pool last time when we stayed for the 2 nights. It looks lovely.
Dad isn’t very optimistic about it but if we have to keep pushing it so be it. We’ll get there at some point! We’ll all get there! |

Continuing on the “I’m definitely positive we’ll possibly be going” path I’ve booked car hire and airport parking.
I actually have two bookings for car hire as I’d sent off a booking form to DFCH then realised VA, who are cheaper have free cancellation. Andy allows amendments if the price comes down so I’ll keep that booking for now just in case. Airport parking was something I wasn’t going to bother with but checked prices on the VA website out of curiosity. They had the Long Stay at Glasgow with a free upgrade to the Short Stay just across from the terminal with free cancellation so it would’ve been rude not to. So far the only aspect booked without free cancellation is the Dolphin but if we can’t go due to Covid I trust Virgin to allow us to move. |

I was only going to post positive news on this thread but we’ve been rocked by the news that Virgin are cancelling their Glasgow and Belfast flights this year. Currently waiting on the email with our options and thinking about what the alternatives are. Delta fly from Edinburgh via JFK or Boston so that may be an option. None of the scenarios I assume they’ll offer will be ideal and will likely end up costing us more but we can only wait and see. Right now I’m strongly considering postponing to next year.

Ah Lisa that's such a shame about the flights. I hope it all works out how you want.

Oh no you worked so hard sorting those flights. ☹️
Hopefully you can manage to swap to delta and maybe still use miles (I think you can do that can’t you?) Maybe a couple of nights in NY might be an exciting thing to do if you can bring yourself to still go. I hope you get a conclusion you are all happy with. Kat

They’ve emailed to say we’ve been moved to Manchester. We’ll have to decide if we’re ok with that or if we want an alternative.

What a pain after all your hard work sorting out flights and hotels.
I hope you manage to sort something out that suits you.

Thanks.
I think we’ve all agreed we’ll just accept the change to Manchester and will drive. I now have to switch airport hotel to probably a Premier Inn and airport parking to meet and greet. |
