Disney After Hours

I'm just after some info regarding Disney After Hours from anyone in the know, or has been to one of these events.

Just for reference, if i was to attend one of these, I would NOT have regular day tickets. Only the ticket for after hours.

The questions I have are:
  1. Is this an event which happens all year round or just at specific times of the year
  2. How far in advance do Disney make these events available?
  3. Does this ticket get linked to MDE and therefore allow you FP's from 7pm until park close or not? I understand that FP's are not required after park close until the end of the event.

Thanks in advance

Steve

A few months

Yes you can book 3 fastpasses. We did.

We loved it!

You can have fp’s up until the event starts. There is no fastpass line once the event starts. That being said there are still people waiting to ride from park closing time that have made it into the line. So the popular rides are still busy for the first while until all these people have been on if that makes sense.

Indeed it does make sense.
So do I assume you add the ticket it onto the MDE app/website to be able to book the FP's in advance or is it only a walk up job and book them when you are in the park?

Add your ticket to MDE and book your fastpasses in advance at 30 or 60 days out.

We also booked a night at AOA to feel totally in the disney bubble and got 7d, splash and space fastpasses 60 days before.

We have just returned from Orlando and did the Disney After Hours event on Saturday 11th August (10pm-1am).
Arrived at the MK at 7:20pm, managed to FP Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain before park closed at 10pm. As mentioned before, from closing time for at least 20-30 mins there are still quite a few daytime guests waiting in lines BUT your after hours ticket automatically becomes a FP for everything at closing time.
Generally the longest lines on the evening will be for the popcorn/drinks/ice cream which are included in the event price, all you can eat or drink.
We are a family of 4 adults and only managed 10 rides in the 3 hours, the time goes by so quickly. Queuing for the food/drink, 10 minute line for Peter Pan Flight and then 30 MINUTES for the Snow White Mine Train kind of drained the time. All other rides were basically walk ons :-). Overall just about worth it !

There was a Tim Tracker video on this recently which you may find useful. It made me want to do it.
