Dubai and airmiles

Want some advice and recommendation on a hotel in the jumariah beach area. Also I’ve rang virgin airmiles and we can up grade to PE for £840 which will mean booking a hotel separately or transfer to money off virgin holiday which is £450. What would others do.

If you're getting £450 off Virgin Holidays, does that mean you have 90,000 miles?

No we’ve got nearly 190,000 between me and my husband, you get a £50 for every 12,500 exchanged. I think the upgrade is the better option.

All of the hotels on the JBH/Madinat site are brilliant. It’s my favourite place to stay. However, the timing of your stay makes a huge difference. If you go October half term, Easter or Nee Year you will pay almost double the weeks around them. There are some great deals to be had including half board, club etc if you can avoid school holidays.
Personally I always book direct with the hotel and negotiate on the rate.

You should be able to get a good price that time. Try and book direct at least that way you will be able to collect the loyalty points which actually work well and are very good value (at least at Jumeirah properties)

Jumeriah Beach Hotel is great and anywhere nearby this in Madinat Jumeriah Also the Westin Mina Seyahi is good and also Le Meriden Mina Seyahi (which is next door). Otherwise have a look at the Hilton Jumeriah Beach, which is actually in the marina area so loads of other options nearby on The Walk for food shopping etc.. all are located at Marina end of Dubai but everywhere is very accessible on tram/metro or using local taxi's which are reasonably priced

We stayed at Hilton The Walk and we loved our stay. You get to use the facilities at the Hilton next door also and in fact it feels like one hotel rather than two. We got breakfast included and the range of items available was fantastic.

There are some photos from breakfast here:

And some photos of the beach area and hotel lobby.

We stayed at jumeirah beach and loved it, upgraded to club executive and there was hardly anyone at our pool, as opposed to the one at the front of the hotel being mobbed. The executive one was only 3 minutes wslk away
