Jobs We Do For Adult Children!

Our Son and his Partner are now in New York for 7 days.

They have a new build house that's only a year old just. He popped in on Monday to leave 2 towels for washing and asked us to check the house everyday which I will always do.

However he asked his Mother if she would clean the oven.

My God we are taking it in turns doing the rungs and drip tray etc. been going an hour so far and no end in sight!

Kids.

Is it just our two who are like this? Are we to blame?

😮😮 seriously, and you are doing it ! I do washing and ironing because they are still at home. Don't imagine they would even ask me to do that.
Each to their own

NOPE

when we lived in the UK we were constantly "doing" things Now when I visit and they are at work, i get notes such as

If you are bored could you...

Oven Cleaning seems to always come top of the list , along with cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and when Dads there its the shed!

they may be adults but they are still out kids

That said I’d never ask them to clean the oven, one of those jobs I dread myself!
Have you tried ‘astonish’ that’s brilliant for ovens comes in a little tub of paste
We are ripping through Brillo Pads! My Wife says next time he can buy one of those kits where you put the rungs in overnight and leave them to get clean.

I don't clean my own oven, I certainly wouldn't do anyone else's. My kids wouldn't ask anyway.

Not that I would ask my mum to clean my oven, but she'd probably tell me to get stuffed if I did!

If anything I'd be the one doing things for her, but sadly we live too far apart for me to pop in and help out.

Wouldn't be me...if they're old enough to buy and live in their own place then they're quite capable of looking after it.
