It's a bit of a whirlwind trip with 4 nights in Tokyo and 4 nights at Disney, but it had to be kept short as I'll be missing a week of Uni for it in Feb. We'll be back to Japan to explore Kyoto, Osaka etc. In the future I'm sure.

We did 5 nights in Hong Kong after Thailand last year and it was amazing, easily our favourite place we have visited so far. Hong Kong Disneyland is wonderful too, Mystic Manor and Grizzly are both in my all time top 5 attractions!
Wow those flight prices are amazing - ours were a tad dearer than that (more than double! ) but we are going in peak summer hols.
Yes I can't wait for both country's Disney parks - but equally looking forward just to soak in the culture and experience of these amazing places - not been to either before.

Huge plans including Shanghai Disney (obviously) in the Toy Story hotel then Shanghai, then to Xian in an overnight Sleeper cabin. From Xian it's then onto Beijing for 5 more nights. We're there for a total of 16 days (inc arrival day in morning and leaving day in evening).

As a family we love Disney and all the planning but China is on a totally different level. See my detailed plans here:
https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1027809

We are all mega excited and can't wait! And our visa arrived yesterday, so that's great!
Wow wow - you are going very soon! Have fun! Yes I have found planning this trip very different from our Florida ones. I'm trying not to get too worried about quantity of rides/attractions and just go to savour some of the atmosphere and differences etc.

Have a brilliant time - we look forward to you reporting back!

Yes I will definitely report back and will be writing some sort of trip report. I'm not a pro at this like others but I definitely want to document this trip as it is very different to our usual ones and we are not likely to be going back in the near future - so I will definitely be feeding back when I return.

I'm hoping it won't be too busy for us too - though we are going in peak summer hols. I just think it will be nice after the crazy wait times in the Tokyo parks to be able to have smaller queues! The hotel sounds great - we are just at a hotel in Kowloon so travelling in by metro - but I have been told it is pretty straightforward :-)

Thank you! I can't believe it is nearly here - I am slightly nervous of the culture shock and potential language barrier but super excited as I think I will love Japan and the people and culture etc :-)

Yes its really easy on the MTR; we did it one day from our hotel in Kowloon too and didn't take long at all. We were staying in Jordan but walked up to Yau Ma Tei to get on the red line then changed to the orange line at Lai King then to the disney resort line at Sunny Bay. The trains on the disney line are fab.

We were there a full week so got octopus cards which were great. You pay a deposit of 50HKD but get 41 back when you return the card.

I know, Ideally April for cherry blossom season or end of May would have been my chosen time for our first trip, but I saw those flight prices with KLM and knew I couldn't pass them up.

HK is really fantastic, everything is so foreign yet so fimiliar due to the British colonial past. The metro is incredibly simple and we found practically no language barriers at all.
