One day in Tokyo - Disney Sea right call?

Hello all

I'm quite excited that I'll be going off on a cruise from Tokyo in Oct!

We are staying a hotel in the city centre for 2 nights before getting on the ship.

With the differences and commuting into the city from the airport on the first day, and having to go and get onto the ship on the last day we only actually have one full day in Tokyo!

I'm thinking we should go to Disney Sea for the day, I don't have enough time to do Disneyland to do both.

I hope that's the right call to pick land over sea...or being cultural and actually exploring Tokyo!

Just looking for some advice from people who've been before would you do something similar?

DLP: 98,99,02,05,09,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 and hopefully 21!
And going again - just don't know when!

Definitely Disneysea over Disneyland - Disneysea is a unique Disney park with no equivalent anywhere else (like Epcot and Animal Kingdom). It is extremely well done and there are a number of very good rides (although same can be said for Disneyland).

One of my friends recently went to Tokyo and only wanted to spend a day in the parks so I recommended Disneysea to her...

Thanks for the advice, I was leaning towards Disney Sea, I've been fortunate enough to go to DLP and WDW a few times. So I've done that style of park before.

Disney Sea would be something different and I'd still be able to get my Disney fix (Will be my only time this year, I keep getting tempted to book a cheeky trip to DLP, then remind myself I need to save the pennies for my one off trip!)

DisneySea is an incredible park, definitely pick that one.
Tokyo is an amazing city, but a day wouldn't be nearly enough to do it justice.

I don’t think that I will be able to do the city justice at all. That’s why I think going to Disney is going to be a good way to spend the day even though my inner student is crying out at me to go and be mature and see cultural stuff instead!

We are hoping if there’s time to check out Tokyo Sky Tree in the morning before we board our cruise in the afternoon.

That way even though we won’t see everything we will have ‘seen’ everything from a height!

It's a few years since I have been to Tokyo but Disneysea is still my favourite themed park.

I only know one person who's actually been there and they've told me it's amazing.

I think I'm going to stick with the plan of going to Disney Sea for the day. I'm sure it will be a good experience.

Now I just need to work out how I'm going to get there from our hotel in the city. According to google it will take around an hour and involves 3 different trains

I'm also now looking forward to shopping there cos if there's one thing I'm short of in life it's Disney parks merch

Cant help you with the train travel as we stayed on site when we went last year, but plan to get there for rope drop. I hope you are going on a weekday?

our trip to japan was cut short last year because of Typhoon Lan, so I really didnt get to see tokyo at all we went straight to TDR and spent 2 days there before moving on to Kyoto and another typhoon. I think I need to go back!

I'll hopefully be there for rope drop, thinking of splurging on a taxi, as it's a one off, and will take half of the amount of time.

It's a shame that your trip was cut short because of a typhoon, I can relate to that we had our trip cut short cos we couldn't fly one year to get out to Florida because of a hurricane.

I'll be going on a Friday, so hopefully that will be better than the actual weekend.

I don't know if it's a good or bad thing crowds wise but I'll be there in the beginning of October so there may be some Halloween related stuff happening.

If I had a choice I'd probably pick a Tues/Weds but Friday is the day I've got so I'm going to make the most of it, I'll try to get fast passes for what I can and even if I don't get to see and do everything then I'll just make the most of what I can do.

Yes! Disney Sea, it’s amazing! TOT is like no other so get there early to get a FP, same goes for Toy Story Mania as they all go before 10am.

We had a day in each park as we were there mainly for Tokyo but it was 2 days we won’t forget! They’re both amazing parks.
We stayed in Asakusa where the skytree is, if you can do it! The views are amazing! There’s a really cool mall at the base of the skytree with a moomin cafe!
