Don't take your Virgin booking for granted
I booked with Virgin to go to All Star Music Resort in a family suite. I did this on the phone and was told that some elements needed confirmation but it should all be ok. Today a week later I received an email saying my booking had been updated. I went on line and the top of the form said 'Booked' woo hoo I thought. But I emailed to ask if all was ok. The reply I got was that my agent was away until next week and she would chase this up. I still had a slight concern so phoned the number. This was when I found out that my holiday that I was so excited about had to be cancelled by Virgin Holidays because there was no room availability. I could pay more and go to the All Star Sports or pay £1400 and book in to Port Orleans. I was given no other choices and they couldn't have cared less that they had so disappointed me.
I immediately contacted Kenwood Travel and was able to book and confirm the same date, hotel and room immediately. (and paid less) I was also able to contact Virgin Atlantic refund my seat upgrade and re-book (Virgin Atlantic were very understanding and helpful) so BE WARNED. Your booking may not be actually there. So, I would love to hear from anyone else if they have had the same problem. Honestly I was devastated and had to quickly search whilst on the phone to Virgin, a new holiday immediately or I would have had some very disappointed family to answer to. |

Oh no I do hope that this is not a “here we go again” situation like last year 😱😱
So very glad you managed to get your holiday rebooked and you were able to save some money ... winner !

Sounds just like the stories of last years debacle. Many Dibbers reported the same thing. The VH gave them a take it or leave it offer, often one that cost a lot more than the original holiday, and really couldn’t care less.

This was a major issue for Virgin customers last year, a lot of people on here were involved and those were just the ones we knew about. Chances are there were loads of others not on here too. I'm glad you got it sorted.

Terrible! How on earth do they get away with doing that?
We've booked via Kenwood (not Florida) several times and never had an issue.

I was affected last year with Virgin. My holiday got cancelled and we give up with Florida but we've booked for 2020 and safe to say it's definitely not with Virgin!
