Toy Story Mania

Hi Folks,

Was wondering, Toy Story Mania, its clearly very popular but whats it like exactly.

Is it a flat ride with like Men in Black or Space ranger Spin but with 3d effects or is there more movement like Spiderman for example?

No its flat like MIB, so works along the same way, you just come up against different 3D screens, we much preferred MIB to TSM!

It is a fun ride but I wouldn't wait over an hour for it. I would try and get a fastpass cause it is a ride not to miss

It's a flat ride where the vehicles stop in front of a number of large screens. Each screen has a different 'midway' style game, like ring toss for example. You use your onboard 'gun' to fire projectiles at a number of targets, some moving and some stationary. When each game is over you get taken to the next screen and so on.

If you want to go on this attraction, aim to be at the park entrance for rope drop and either go straight to the Fastpass distribution machines or join the standby queue. Doing this you will wait no more than ten minutes.

I wasn't keep on MIB but loved this. That's strange as I'm not into video type games. My family bought it for me last Christmas as a Wii game.We had not trouble getting on this, didn't queue for more than about 5-8 mins tops. We got to the parks a good 45 mins before opening and rode this one straight away. Would I queue for an hour, no, but I have to say I wouldn't queue for anything for an hour..LOL

I thought it was a good ride, but I really don't get all the hype about it. After reading some of the comments about it prior to our trip I was actually quite excited to have a go and see what it was all about, but actually we all enjoyed Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin much more and the wait times were much less. Was a bit disappointed with MIB too

We prefer MIB and Buzz but it is a fun ride, can't ride it too often as it makes my arm ache!

Last week my family went straight to rock n roller at rope drop and I went quickly to get fastpasses. I had to wait several minutes and everyone in the queue was joking that it just isn't worth the hype! By the time I had my passes (for 10.35) the queue for the FP was as far as the little mermaid theatre!

i agree with all the posts here. If you don't get there for rope drop, or early enough to get a reasonable FP time, then you are in for a long wait. FP's are usually gone by 11am in any case.

We were determined to do it. There is no point in going 5000 miles and not completeing the rides so we bit the bullet and waited. It was about 45 mins in total.

So, was it worth it?

Well, it is a a fun ride, that's for sure. But I would not queue again for it. I think you have to queue if you are not in early enough as it is a ride you have to knock off your list.

But I don't think it is a great ride. I think it is just so busy because it is still fairly new plus it is a ride everyone can do...add to that the whoe Toy Story 3 thing and you have a perfect storm.

I was there the year Men In Black opened and the queue for that was 2 hrs!...this year we got on in 10 mins, I also remember Buz Lighytyears spin being a horrendous wait when i first went but it was a walk on this year

I can't see the queues continuing over the years. It's good, but it's no spiderman!
