Can I hire a car in US and take it into Canada?

As title really - looking to start a trip in US and go to Canada. I'm guessing I couldn't do one way, I would have to take it back to the same place?

Thank you

Most companies allow cross border driving. Well apart from going into Mexico!

Sorry but I don't think you can do a 1 way drop across the border but I may be wrong.

One answer is to try to book. I've just done a dummy booking on the Hertz website from Buffalo Airport to Toronto airport for 5 days in may and it gave me a quote of $400 which includes a $100 one way fee.

Hope that helps,

-Steve

Some years back we hired a car in New York and drove up to Niigata, across Canada and back down with full permission to take that route so definitely worth putting in a dummy booking and see what comes back.
