Mobile Extra time required on car hire

Our flight has been changed from Miami, from 18.30 to 23.50. We are happy with this and are getting compensated.

My question is how to extend our car hire from a return of 4pm? So potentially need for another 5hours

Would we be wise to contact Alamo direct or will they add the extra cost upon return.

Whats the original time for collection and return?

If you're entering a new 24 hour period, Alamo will charge an hourly price for the first two hours and then if you return it any later, it'd be a daily price. Price is shown on your rental agreement (presume you're out there now?)

Yes Andy we are here at the moment. We picked up the car at 4pm and presume needed to be back at 4pm for our original flight at 6.20pm. So presume a daily rate will apply. Do I need to advise Alamo in advance?

Yes, it'll be the daily amount shown on your rental agreement. No need to let Alamo know.

Sorry to jump on. I have an AutoEurope booking, but have not done an OLCI as yet. Where do I find the daily rate, and probably more importantly, (*dumb question alert!) is the hourly rate, just 1/24th of that rate?

Cheers

I obviously can't add anything to Andy's advice but the only thing that I'd suggest is to make sure that the printed receipt that you'll get when returning the car only shows the extra hire period that your contract shows. Unless you added fuel service and other stuff of course which will also show.

Except it's not. The total price for the number of days is on the Booking confirmation, but no reference to the per day price, the per hour price, the 29 minute 'free' time or if returning less than 2 hrs overdue will be charged per hour.

Only reference is:

* All rentals are based on 24 hour periods with a 1 day minimum rental, a full day is charged for any portion of a day that the vehicle
is used.
