C&L South African Adventure Oct 2018 - Day 13 - Hermanas Whale Watching
Day 13
We woke up at 8am feeling surprisingly ok after our wine tasting the day before, luckily we had got an early night! We were going to Hermanas with C&M today, I had read about the whales at Hermanas and how it was one of the best spots in the world where you could see whales from the land. We got up and had our breakfast and left at 9.15 It was about a 90 minute drive but we stopped off on the way, firstly at Gordon’s Bay. We saw some baboons en route. The weather had taken a turn today and it was pretty cold and windy ! We went to Stoney Point which has more penguins . It was 25RN each to get in. Saw these cute little things too: We carried on to Hermanas and stopped off at a couple of viewing points, they are Southern Wright Whales. We saw a couple of whales from quite a distance. It was very hard getting photos. We stopped in a pub for some lunch and had a burger each and a soft drink. It was 320RN for the two of us (about £18). We drove on to another view point and saw loads of whales. We spent some time watching the whales until a massive wave came and got us wet! We were very pleased we had seen the whales – our holiday was definitely full of wildlife! We drove back and got back about 5.45pm. The weather was much better back in Cape Town so Chris and I walked down to the beach to watch the sunset. We went and got some photos and had a play on the bars (I love aerial acrobatics ) We stopped for a drink at Moyo bar, I had a margarita and Chris had a spiced mango lemonade. We enjoyed our drink and watched the sunset. We grabbed a little snack from the shop as we were still full from our burger so didn’t fancy much for dinner. We walked back to the house and relaxed before going to bed. Next - day 14

Great pictures in the frame with Table Mountain. And a glorious sunset as well!
