Thumbs up for VA common sense

I’ve been going about changing my name since the wedding and received various levels of officialdom as to who ‘needs’ the original certficate, who will accept a certified copy and those who just take my word for it.
Unbelievably HMRC, National Insurance etc just accepted my email information (lots of questions though, including about former husband and presumably they have a way of checking?).
Today contacted VA flying club and they sorted it immediately - asked for a screenshot/photo of marriage certificate and changed it there and then
Why cannot all organisations be that easy?

I agree it would help if all agencies adopted the same policy on what documents are acceptable for things like a name change. I'm trying to change my pension details and they've returned my certified copy of the Deed Poll stating they need the original document so I've got to get back in touch with my solicitor to get that. Annoying I have to faff on but I'm guessing it's tighter controls to help fight any fraudulent claims so I'm happy they are protecting my interests being quite stubborn about seeing the original.
