New Premium Service Areas at the Disney Waterparks

inline image
Beginning yesterday June 1, guests can now rent one of four new "Beachcomber Shacks" at Typhoon Lagoon, and rent one of four new "Polar Patios" at Blizzard Beach.

The rather large price tag includes all-day drink mugs, bottled water and cooler, comfortable lounge furniture, tables, towels, private lockers and the services of an attendant. The attendant will offer hints and tricks to make the most of the Guest's visit as well as assist with food and drink orders for the party. Food and drink items are an additional cost, except for the included all-day drink mugs and bottled water..

The Beachcomber Shacks and Polar Patios are currently offered on a first come, first served basis, and accomodate up to 6 guests. You would have thought a premium service like this at Walt Disney World would come with a big price tag - and you would be correct. To rent a shack or patio for the day, you would have to part with a whopping $250 plus tax. Some see it as a way for Disney to "rent out the shade" .

I was very interested untill I saw the price tag, I think I will stick to the cheaper alternative and find the 'free' shade.

I know! The price tag seems ridiculously high... surely it would be cheaper to buy the mugs, rent the towels, bring your own cushion and get up to get your food?:pop:

Me thinks the cabanas at Aquatica have scared them into doing this.

They don't even look very nice ..not very private, unlike the Aquatica ones. Think I'll just get there for opening still and grab a brolly!

How much are the cabanas at Aquatica? Do you get similar things? Never been to Aquatica sadly.
