automated passport control

has anyone used the automated passport kiosks in orlando.
just wondered how easy they are to use and if it saves much time

Used them about 5 or 6 times before they were removed in 2018. They were there in the April when we used them and they'd gone in November.

We had a chatty IO in that November who basically confirmed what most of us knew anyway - waste of time and money.

Yes they took some administrative tasks off the IO such as scanning your p/p, taking photos and fingerprints and asking the usual customs questions. Everyone had to see an IO anyway as it was they not the kiosks who admitted you and stamped your p/p.

Loads of people got a cross on their kiosk receipt for any number of reasons which meant that the IO repeated such tasks as fingerprints and photos.

Basically they increased your passage through immigration rather than reduce it.
