Brilliant day, your photos are incredible. Kate’s testing procedure seemed pretty straightforward too

I can’t believe you’ve not had an Aperol Spritz before, it’s one of my favourite cocktails as I had several on our trip to Venice where they were particularly good
I know it's shocking that I've let myself down by not having an Aperol Spritz before! I've even got a calendar with a cocktail recipe on each month and the recipe for July was Aperol Spritz and I still hadn't got round to trying it. At least now I know how nice they are and also how easy they are to make.

Brilliant that sorting the test for Kate went so smoothly.

The Coliseum is such an amazing place .. all that history and the genius engineering. Quite incredible. Shame it was overcast. Never seen those bits of Palatine Hill, really interesting.

Food looked nice today .. even the meatballs with no pasta. Very literal menu there then! Did like the look of the charcuterie board.

Gosh your feet must have been aching!

Aperol Spritz... not a fan . what did you think ? But then I’m not keen on Negroni either? Think I’m more a sweet cocktail person ..

I SO want a Negroni, I cannot believe you have never had an aperol spritz!

Another great day with some fab photos, we never got to do the Colosseum as we ran out of time.

I am very hungry now and would love a nice Italian meal, all your food looks fabulous

I really like campari, the bitterness is lovely, but then I'm not a fan of sweet cocktails so I guess that's why.

Dave did love his meatballs even with no pasta, just not what he was expecting as over here it would always be served with pasta.

Yes, the Colosseum was breathtaking, so huge and I kept wondering how on earth they had managed to build it so long ago. Amazing!

I know I'm slacking off never having had an Aperol Spritz, I've rectified that now! I had to have these at home and bought a bottle of Aperol soon as we got home.

A shame you missed out on the Colosseum when you were in Rome, although that just means you have a reason to go back someday.

Another fab day! The Colosseum still amazes me that a lot of it is still standing after over 2000 years . Palatine Hill and the Forum look really interesting too.
All your food looks lovely today, especially Kate's pesto pasta!

I know I kept reminding myself that many of the buildings are over 2000 years old...it is amazing. There are so many ancient buildings in Rome that you sort of take it for granted as you wander up and down, but the Colosseum was spectacular, looking back I think it was favourite part of the trip, well apart from the food!

We found all the food to be very reasonably priced and very tasty! There wasn't a single meal that we thought was poor. It was a lot of walking today, in quite drizzly weather, but we enjoyed looking around Palatine Hill. I'm glad I had trainers on though it was pretty rough ground.
