Sangria and a tray of crisps. Benalmadena. Nov 21. Day 3. A relaxing day after a mini meltdown.
Sunday 28th November.
Index Woke up and checked the news, travels rules were changing from Tuesday, before we got home. We now had to change our LFT to PCR tests and self isolate until the results came back. This sent me into a mad panic. I’ve been reading about high functioning anxiety and I can relate. I’m not a high achiever as in wanting to be promoted but do always do a job properly. I always over think, check things over again, (I keep our passports in my bum bag so I can check on them constantly) early, organised. I generally just worry a lot. Anyway, I texted my work as I was due back on Friday night. My manager was lovely and said not to worry and enjoy my holiday. I had a little cry and called my dd. She’s studying psychology at uni to become a counsellor (doing a third year placement at mind at the moment) she’s very calm and the person to talk to when I’m stressed or upset. I pulled myself together and started to google new tests in case we couldn’t upgrade our ones. Paul had ordered all our LFT so I couldn’t do anything myself. Matt and I went for breakfast. The Spanish omelette was lovely. Paul and Tracy came and I asked about emailing the company. He was angry about and said he would just keep our LFT but in the end he said he would email. Tracy and I went to Linda and Russell room to drink our winning cava on their balcony. They had been automatically upgraded as they booked direct with the hotel. The room was similar to ours, just with a sofa. They also got premium drinks. They would be in home in time before the rule changing. It was another beautiful day so us and Matt had a walk to windmill roundabout and back along the seafront. Matt then went back to the football pub, Scruffy Murphy's as he wanted to watch Everton, while Linda, Russell, Tracy and I had a drink on the front. 3 beers and a coffee was €10.50. We then went to meet Matt and Paul, who had joined him. Paul had heard back about the tests, they would send him a code to take the £19 off already paid for LFT when he ordered the PCR tests and would still deliver ready for when we got home. This was a massive relief and I started to relax again. This was the last of the sun at the bar. We left Paul and Matt and went back to the hotel. We ordered hot chocolate with the sangria as we were a little cold. It was made from hot milk and was so good. The boys came back, we had a few drinks before dinner. We didn’t have snacks so I must have been hungry looking at the food photos. 😂 We all had an early night.
