A short notice (covid style) trip to Delaware - Pre Trip

It has been almost 2 years since our last trip to the USA, with one Florida trip moved due to covid (coming up this June!) and we almost went to Disneyworld for a week after Christmas but due to various reasons decided against it.

We have however been getting fed up with the cold and gloomy weather over here so decided it was time for a short trip and as it is my birthday in Feb why not go see our friends in Wilmington?

We don’t have long due to school holidays and other people being off at work but last night got new ESTAs and bought our flights.

The plan is to fly from Heathrow to Philadelphia on a Thursday morning and back home late on Monday.

We will be staying with friends so the trip report wont be too exciting but we are hoping to get an Earl of Sandwich and some shopping in whilst there!

Still to do:

Sort airport hotel and parking - we want self park and to keep our keys which seems tricky at Heathrow?

Covid tests - we need supervised day before departure and unsupervised day 2 LFTs I think?

I think that’s all we need except to get some UK treats for our friends.

We’re off to Philly and DC in April and plan to stop at the Christiana Mall near Wilmington on the way! Have you been there before?

Yeah, we’ve been a couple of times since our friends moved in 2015. We’ve done the sightseeing in Philly so will probably just go shopping and spend time with our friends as it’s only a short trip.
