Sorry fellow October planners but my positivity finally got overtaken by my risk management and I have taken the decision to switch to February next year.
I hope I'm proved wrong and you all get your holiday as planned but with other life decisions needing to be made, I'm out.

Why the sudden urge to cancel and move to Feb? What made you make that choice especially since biden has said himself this week that he will be making an announcement over the coming days. Why not just wait until that announcement before making your choice?

I am on the verge of moving ours. Even if the travel ban is lifted, this testing and traffic light system is causing me alot of stress. Being a family of 4 i'm feeling very on edge about one of us potentially testing positive with my kids being in school right until the day before our flight. On the plus side, I do think Oct may well happen now but there'd have to be a massive change in the current system for me to feel excited and not sick with nerves about this holiday. I will wait it out until summer flights are released and book 2 weeks into the summer hols. Fingers crossed they do a u-turn on this ridiculous system though

You're not alone, we've also cancelled and will move to another date when we're happy to do so . Got my BA voucher within 7 days, and DC ticket refund in about 3 days (back on my CC), been no issue at all.
As with you, im hoping oct holds out for you all x Edit: Same reasons here Jenna x Edited at 08:04 AM. |

That's good to hear your vouchers / refunds came back quick. Just looking at your signiture, are you deciding between universal / disney 2023 because of the ages of children? We've been to disney and this was supposed to be another disney trip (april 2020) but my kids will be 13 and 10 by summer 2022 so having a real rethink but part of me can't let go of the trip we planned for 2020 and never got.

Yep. Exactly that . Ours are abit younger, will be 8 & 10 when we want to go next... but they are both wanting to do Universal, even with the Disney carrot dangling . Son loves Marvel and Daughter wants to practically live at a water park (Volcano Bay), so we are looking at Cabana Bay (family suite) as it has direct walking path to VB and early entry to US/IOA etc. DH and I are coater fans so velocicoaster & Hagrids is a huge pull for us, even with kids swap .
Nice decision to have isnt it xx Edit: Ive kept my folder with my Oct plan, will keep it to one side and i can use it in the future if we book a spontaneous visit x Edited at 08:14 AM. |

Yes definitely a nice decision! 😊😂
Mine haven't mentioned Universal (but maybe because I don't know much about it so I haven't really mentioned it to them before). We've been very fortunate enough to have carried on saving for florida as normal so we should have gone 2020 and 2022 so if we do get to go in 2022 we should be able to go 2023 too so I was thinking Disney and then universal in 2023 but I think I need to really look into it again. (With so many plans being cancelled this past 18 months, I am really struggling to 'research' things (well enthusiastically anyway). That's a great idea about shelving your Oct plan. So much work goes into trip planning, it's difficult to let go of them 😊
