This is such a wonderful part of the country and should be a must visit for everyone.

The Potted Lobster is already booked for 6 of us in July.
I am completely jealous of your Potted Lobster reservation!

The Potted Lobster is closing for refurbishment on 24th Jan until 5th February - will be interesting to see what they are doing.

Just a quick mention for anyone interested next weeks Michael Portillo's Great Coastal Journeys on BBC at 6.30pm is featuring the NE section of the E Coast rail line. Episode 4 is featuring Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnmouth. I know MP isn't everyones cup of tea but worth putting up with him for the views

Here's a link from the local Evening Chronicle

Just as an aside - we had a great display of the Aurora Borealis last night on the coast and in Keilder Forest. You will find some fabulous photos online.

Thanks for the update Stanley. 😁 How amazing you were able to see the Aurora Borealis, that is a bucket list item for me!

Great report Michelle, came across it looking at dog friendly threads on the forum. I want to take Millie up to the NE with me in the summer, Milo is lovely and looks like a smaller version of Millie.

Milo sounds like he is more chilled than Millie though - she tends to be nervous. xx

Thanks so much Liz, it feels like a lifetime ago that we were in Bamburgh! Millie is just beautiful! 😍 I can’t believe how similar Milo looks to her! 😊 Milo is super nervous, he is scared of most other dogs (he has his dog friends in our village but gets a bit shouty if strange dogs approach him), he is also nervous of new people but we love him and all of his quirks! 💕
That whole area around Bamburgh is super dog friendly and most of the pubs/restaurants and cafes have dog friendly spaces which was fantastic. I highly recommend The Potted Lobster and also the Copper Kettle, you would be best with a reservation at the Potted Lobster as it gets very busy and if you find the Cooper Kettle on FB you can order directly with them, it also gets really busy! We would love to go back and I think the summer would be the perfect time to visit. 🤩💕 xxx

Thank you for the extra info. I have found a place near Bamburgh to rent, Millie gets triggered if people go past the bedroom in a hotel so I think a rental is a better plan for us xx

Don't forget to add Barter Books in Alnwick to your sightseeing plan - you won't regret it.
