Beaches
Hi, we’re travelling to Disney next year after 12 loooong years of absence. We’re travelling with two young children aged 8 & 3, and would love a beach day. Can anyone recommend a really good beach that’s not too far (less than 2 hour drive maybe) as it would be a long drive for two children.

Clearwater! Loved it there last year and have booked 1 night airBnB this year so we can have a full day there and then go to Busch Gardens the following day!

Another vote for Clearwater as it's one of my favourite places in the world! You'd have to get there early to park though as it can get very busy.
Cocoa Beach is nice, again get there early if you want to park near the pier. I haven't been to Anna Maria but there are loads of fans on here! |

Anna Maria /Long Boat Key for a day visit . Clearwater is great but above we’d prefer for the day.
If staying over for the night and willing to drive a little further Sanibel is beautiful. |

Another one for Clearwater.
Plenty to do and the sunset is stunning. The Aquarium is also a good place to visit although we have not been since Winter the Dolphin passed

Anna Marie Island is maybe 30 minutes further than Clearwater and well worth the extra driving in my view.

Remember it rains most summer afternoons and you don’t want to be in the water when there is a thunderstorm. I would go early and head back later in the afternoon. Clearwater is my favourite.

That drive is around 1 hour... for small kids I would say Clearwater is the better bet.

OP you haven't said where you are staying. There could be a big difference in travel times
E,g, if you are near Universal then the Atlantic coast will be just over an hour but Clearwater Beach nearly 2 hours. |
