Price-matching

Hi,
We are currently looking at park ticket options for our trip in September 22.

So far Orlandoattractions.com and attraction tickets.com are current favourites, however OA tickets are £682 and AA are £721. So I was wondering do AA price match, or has anyone had any success with this?
Thanks

Perhaps it's just me, but I've never understood these price matching threads. Why not just make your purchase from the cheapest supplier?

I guess advantages and disadvantages, some offer insurance, some don’t. I’m sure everyone would prefer the best deal possible?

American Attractions? I'm sure my friend got a price match off them no problem. Worth a shot eh!

Some do offer price match, americans attractions do seem to if you read the booking conditions, though there are a quite a few criteria that you need to match though that I have generally found stop them matching as it isn't like for like.

I think AttractionTickets.com are physical tickets whereas Orlando Attractions are not selling physical tickets, at least for Universal. Not sure about Disney.

I rang them this morning regarding Universal tickets and they are only selling what they call e-tickets but in actual fact they are not gate ready and only vouchers which have to be redeemed at guest services according to the young lady I spoke to. She was very hesitant though and did not sound at all sure of what she was saying.

Orlando Attractions only sell etickets. Most other companies only sell etickets as well, for Disney these have to be exchanged at will call (or use the your phone as the park ticket if it supports it). For universal and most other parks they are normally gate ready.

The Disney tickets we bought from Attraction Tickets.com were definitely actual physical cc style tickets. I rang OrlandoAttractions.com to check if their Universal e-tickets were gate ready and the young lady I spoke to said they were not gate ready but vouchers that had to be exchanged. I do have to say though that I did get the impression she was out of her depth and didn't have a clue. I would have bought them if gate ready but instead I have bought physical tickets from American Attractions.

The OP was talking about American Attractions, not Attraction Tickets. However, the American Attractions website is owned by Attraction Tickets so I guess the same may apply to both.

To the OP, AA do say that they price match, however please note the list of conditions on their Booking Conditions page. These include:
  • The ticket being a real ticket, not a voucher or “e-ticket”
  • Our reserved right to withdraw any added value (eg payment on deposit or free gift) that we would normally send with the tickets.
  • For any price matched ticket, we will supply the equivalent STANDARD ticket (not Protection or Protection Plus)

So, if they price match then they would probably remove any additional added extras and remove any ticket protection. However, as OrlandoAttractions provides e-tickets for Disney then I suspect they won't price match OA's prices.

The problem with price-matching is that the company offering the lowest prices loses out on business. This means there's less incentive for this company to have lower prices or, worst case, the company with lower prices ends up going out of business because folk go elsewhere and get a price match. Which, in turn, means higher prices in general in the long run.

Personally, unless some company was doing some good freebies, I'd go with the reputable company that had the lowest price. And, in my opinion, OrlandoAttractions is a reputable company that I've used several times with no issues.

AttractionTickets do not price match, even though they advertise a Lowest Price Promise on their website and in their brochure. As others have said above, they will get out of doing so in a number of ways. I was told they couldn't price match because the other company did not include a free Disney band. Having said that, they are the only company I have found where you can insure against you catching Covid at the time of departure. Good luck
